KAKO CHOCOLATE SCHOOL
Welcome to the home of Kako Chocolate School! Not only do we make amazing modern artisan chocolate – we teach you the latest in world chocolate making too. With chocolate classes suitable for beginners through to experts, you will soon be making world class chocolates from the comfort of your own kitchen. Our classes are designed for adult learning – all students must be at least 15 years old to attend. All the information you require on the school can be accessed from the three links below.
Our chocolate school classes run over the weekends in winter months. All classes are held in our state of the art chocolate kitchen in Glen Innes, Auckland, under the expert care of our professional tutors and chocolatiers. Want to know what is coming up? The link you should follow is here:
With classes available for all levels of chocolate making (including absolute beginners), there is no reason why you cannot add chocolate making to your list of skills! With professionally trained tutors and chocolatiers, you are in great hands.
Who is the ideal student? The answer is simple – anyone with a passion and curiosity for chocolate! Your class will have up to 14 people, all at a similar learning level with you. CLASS PROFILE – CHOCOLATE 101
Level: Suitable for all levels, including beginners
Time: 10am – 4pm (Full day class, with lunch included)
Our one day ‘Chocolate 101’ course is the perfect class for those wanting to learn more about hand made chocolates. In this class, we make a variety of chocolate products, including filled chocolates, and dipped/enrobed chocolates. You will learn how to apply cocoa butter transfer sheets to add a real professional finish. You will also learn a simple method for making caramels from scratch! We cover many of the modern techniques of professional chocolate making by creating a variety of recipes in class. By the end of this class, you will be able to make some world class chocolates, and have a solid understanding of how to flavour & present your chocolates in a way that will really impress your friends and family. These chocolates will be good enough that you could even sell them in markets! You also get your own workbook to take away, including the actual recipes used in class.
And remember, everything you make – you take! All products made by the class are divided up among the participants!
My husband and I attended the Introduction to Chocolate class. Having been to other cooking classes around Auckland, I was surprised just how hands on this class was! Got to make some really amazing chocolate, and best part - taking sooooo much home! Best day out we have had in a long time and I can't recommend this class enough!
Wow! We had a blast in this class, ate great chocolate, had ridiculous amounts to take home, and a really yummy lunch to boot. How did we not know about this place earlier?
Really professional and patient training, Stu, Michelle, and Lewis were great hosts, and we learned how to get the fillings into the chocolate. Great course, with excellent material (and chocolate!) to take away afterward. Thank you.
What an amazing experience, I had the most fabulous time. Stu and his staff are very professional people who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I have done the Tempering course, Truffles and Chocolates 101. I have learnt more in these three courses than I had spending a year on the computer or in text books. It doesn't matter what level you are at in chocolate making, everyone participates in groups and has a go at various activities but you always have a chocolate expert on hand. I can't recommend these courses highly enough. I will certainly be attending any further classes. WARNING!! BECOMES ADDICTIVE
