All pricing quoted is in New Zealand dollars and includes GST. Pricing, special offers and promotional products are subject to availability, and Kako Chocolate reserves the right to cancel or amend these without notice.
Every effort is made to ensure that products shown on our website are available and in stock. However, in the event of large internet orders, or increased demand in our physical stores, sometimes availability maybe out of our control.
Our promise to you is that if for any reason we cannot supply your order within 5 working days, excluding Rural Delivery, we will notify you within 48 hours and let you know the timeframe for delivery.
We love chocolate too – and don’t want you to have to wait too long for your chocolate fix! We aim to dispatch all orders with-in 24 hours of receiving them, excluding weekends. Delivery in most cases will be with-in 1 – 3 working days, but for rural or South Island deliveries, this may be longer. Please allow the following WORKING days for your delivery:
- Auckland 1 – 2 days
- North Island (exc Rural Delivery) 2 – 3 days
- South Island (exc Rural Delivery) 3 – 5 days
- Rural Delivery (as defined by TOLL) 5 – 7 days
If it is urgent, contact us to discuss options. We do not deliver on weekends. Orders placed after midday will miss that day’s courier pick up and won’t be dispatched until at least the next work-day afternoon.
We do not dispatch goods on a Friday to prevent chocolate sitting in the courier depot over the weekend. Our couriers use air conditioned vans, so your chocolate will reach you in excellent condition, even on hot days. All boxes will be marked “NO SUN, KEEP COOL”. However, there may be times where there is excessive heat (heatwaves) – in these instances, we reserve the right to delay delivery until this has passed –don’t worry – this is rare, and we will contact you with-in 2 working days of receiving your order to let you know!
All items must be signed for at point of delivery – so we know the right person is getting the chocolates! We recommend you get your chocolate sent to an address where you will be during the day – often this is a work address. In the event you specifically request to have chocolate left without signature, this will be entirely at your risk, and should we have proof of delivery from the courier company, we will consider the package delivered.
We do not deliver to PO Boxes – we have no control over the temperature and humidity of the holding rooms at the PO Box facilities, and want your chocolate to reach you in optimum condition!
We reserve the right to refuse refunds if your goods turn up after you required them, subject to us having stayed with-in the bounds of these terms and conditions – so please order your goods early if they are for a special occasion.

Pricing for International Shipping is on a case-by-case basis.
If your product has arrived damaged, please contact us with-in 48 hours of delivery, and we will work out the best solution for you. This will either be a replacement or refund in full (including the courier fee), depending on the situation. In the event there are damaged goods, we will need those goods returned to us with-in seven days. Kako Chocolate is not responsible for the cost of returning these items.
We cannot offer refunds if you have chosen incorrectly, so please order carefully!
Kako Chocolate is not responsible for items that are delayed, damaged, or returned due to the supply of an incorrect delivery address – so please double check your details carefully!
When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.
Kako Chocolate respects your privacy. Any information you give us is held with care and security, and will only be used with your consent. When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery, submit a review, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.
If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by using the “unsubscribe” link on any emails from us or logging in to your account and adjusting your preferences.
We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service. Otherwise, Kako Chocolate will not share your details with any third party.
